H For Kevin

     Alright so since yesterday did turn out to be a snow day I ended up not doing any work for Chinese =O.  And Mary didn’t end up teaching me yesterday, again ‘cause of the snow day n all.  But she taught me today to make up for it and she was really organized about it, like almost a lesson plan type of thing!

     So I’ve decided to post pictures of the sheets we worked on in the lessons in these blog posts, along with whatever things I work on in my own time as usual =D!  Today we did basic phrases and words along with the 4 different tones used in Mandarin.

     The words are: zai, you, bu.  I’d post the actual characters too but for some reason tumblr resizes it to what the readmandarin site has the font set at..which is annoying.

     So happy and excited I finally have the chance to get actually better at my own language now (AND learn Mandarin too!  Hopefully enough to be able to understand a good chunk of what all those people are saying in Mandarin all the time o.o lol)

     K so my mandarin friend Mary said she’d help tutor me once a week since I seem serious about learning more Chinese (mandarin) now.  So yay =]!  Going to start tomorrow if it’s not a snow day.  And in terms of words learned today I didn’t really learn any except the fact that mandarin uses “di di” to call younger brother, which I thought was just a simple thing we did in cantonese, as opposed to “sai lo.”  But I guess not.  Taking a ‘break’ due to cramming for Life Science 3A03 test tomorrow (again if it’s not a snow day).  Back to more words learned tomorrow.

     Oh and on a side note: I’m pretty damn grateful for having the good friends I have haha.  How I have them in my life despite me being quite a bad friend myself, I’ll never know, but I’m grateful nonetheless =]

     Oh, and I’m going to try to insert some relevant pictures in my posts when I can from now on to change things up a bit and not just have walls and walls of text in my blog XDD!

     Now back to studying.. o.o

     Huh, well then, seems I wrote a post on my bad habit of giving notice already, but I’m just going to write another one anyways ‘cause it seems I still haven’t learned.  I think my problem is I had the bad habit mixed up in my head before a bit.

     My bad habit, and I think my worst habit of all my many many bad habits which I don’t talk about on tumblr (maybe I should), is that I don’t keep my word.  I get all hyped about something that’s planned in the somewhat distant future usually, and then I don’t follow through and come through.  So people all lose trust/hope in me, view me as irresponsible, can’t trust me, call me a ditcher, etc etc etc.  Story of my life because I always do it.  Hopefully writing it down again will help me remember and learn to change asap..

     Oh, and hoping it’ll be a snow day tomorrow =D (random but anyways lol, it’d be the first time it’s been a real snow day in uni I think for me)!!

     Okay, so I got like a program called Rosetta Stone from a friend’s recommendation, but haven’t had a chance to install it yet and I’m tired from studying uni crap and all tonight already.  So I’ll set that up another day and use their lesson plans a bit.

     But in terms of learning from that website of characters, I think I’ll just start off with 3 characters today.  Ease my way into the habit haha

     The 3 I learned were: de, yi, and shi (#1-3 from that site I posted earlier).  I’d paste the actual characters but tumblr effs up their sizes for some reason when I try so until I figure it out I’ll just write their pinyin.  Goodnight

     Chinese learning starts tomorrow not today XD, stayed up too late playing SC2.  Starcraft Sundays start now with the boys o.o.

     Ugh I’m such a fail chinese boy lol.  But today, I resolve to start learning more chinese vigilantly!  Starting with reading and understanding using this site:

     I’m going to try to learn 5-10 words a day depending how busy I am that day.  No matter what.  So that means if all goes well I should have around 500 commonly used words learned within less than 100 days hopefully…  Might not work out that way but hopefully I can stick close to that schedule =D!  Wish me luck imaginary people who read my blog XDD

     I’ll track it all down on a notepad file or something on my desktop o.o, I might write some updates here down the line or something
